How I Can Support You

Understanding and Managing Anxiety

Anxiety can feel like your mind is constantly “on,” searching for what could go wrong, replaying past conversations, or trying to prepare for every possible outcome. You may find yourself caught in cycles of worry, perfectionism, reassurance-seeking, avoidance, or feeling overwhelmed by everyday responsibilities. Even when you know your fears may not be realistic, it can still feel difficult to quiet the thoughts or settle your body.

Therapy can help you better understand the patterns that keep anxiety going and develop practical tools to respond to anxious thoughts with greater confidence and flexibility. Together, we can work on building a stronger sense of calm, self-trust, and the ability to engage more fully in the parts of life that matter to you.

Healing from Trauma

Experiencing trauma or painful life events can leave lasting effects on the way you see yourself, others, and the world around you. You may find yourself feeling stuck in memories of the past, avoiding certain reminders, feeling disconnected or numb, struggling with trust, or carrying beliefs such as “I should have done something differently” or “I’m not safe.”

Therapy can help you process these experiences in a supportive and compassionate environment while making sense of how they continue to impact you today. Using evidence-based approaches, we can work toward healing painful memories, developing a kinder relationship with yourself, and creating a greater sense of safety, choice, and control in your life.

Overcoming OCD

OCD is more than simply being organized or wanting things to be “just right.” It can involve intrusive, unwanted thoughts, images, or urges that create intense distress, along with compulsive behaviours or mental rituals used to reduce anxiety. While these strategies may provide temporary relief, they can become exhausting and begin to interfere with relationships, work, school, and daily life.

Therapy can help you understand the cycle of obsessions and compulsions and gradually build confidence in tolerating uncertainty and discomfort without relying on compulsive behaviours. Through evidence-based treatment, we can work toward reducing OCD’s impact and helping you regain freedom and flexibility in your life.

Moving Through Depression and Reconnecting with Yourself

Depression can affect much more than mood. It may show up as feeling disconnected from yourself, losing interest in things you once enjoyed, struggling with motivation, feeling exhausted, or carrying a persistent sense of guilt, hopelessness, or self-criticism. Sometimes depression looks like “functioning” on the outside while feeling overwhelmed or stuck internally.

Therapy can provide a space to understand what is contributing to these feelings, reconnect with your values, and begin making meaningful changes at a pace that feels manageable. We will work together to identify unhelpful patterns, strengthen coping strategies, and help you move toward a life that feels more fulfilling and aligned with who you are.

Navigating Life Changes and Building Confidence

Life transitions, relationship challenges, and changes in how you see yourself can leave you feeling uncertain, overwhelmed, or disconnected. You may struggle with setting boundaries, expressing your needs, navigating conflict, people-pleasing, perfectionism, or feeling like you are not “enough” despite your accomplishments. Sometimes, you may simply feel stuck and unsure of what needs to change.

Therapy can help you better understand yourself, recognize patterns that may no longer be serving you, and develop healthier ways of relating to yourself and others. Together, we can work on building confidence, improving relationships, and creating a life that feels more authentic and meaningful.

Therapeutic Modalities

Therapy is not one-size-fits-all. I draw from evidence-based therapeutic approaches and thoughtfully integrate them based on your needs, goals, and preferences.

CBT is an evidence-based approach that explores the connection between your thoughts, emotions, and behaviours. Together, we identify patterns that may be contributing to distress and develop practical strategies to help you respond to challenges in more helpful and flexible ways.

CPT is an evidence-based treatment for post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and other trauma-related difficulties. It helps you understand how traumatic experiences may have affected the way you view yourself, others, and the world, while working through beliefs that may be keeping you feeling stuck.

DBT is an evidence-based approach that helps people better understand and manage intense emotions, navigate relationships, tolerate distress, and respond to difficult situations more effectively. It combines acceptance and change, helping you build practical skills while approaching your experiences with greater compassion.

IFS is a therapeutic approach that understands the mind as containing different “parts,” each with its own emotions, beliefs, and ways of trying to protect you. Therapy involves approaching these parts with curiosity and compassion to better understand internal conflicts, reduce distress, and foster greater self-awareness and connection.

EMDR is an evidence-based therapy commonly used to treat trauma and PTSD. Using structured techniques that may include guided eye movements or other forms of bilateral stimulation, EMDR helps the brain process distressing memories so they feel less emotionally overwhelming and have less impact on the present.

Ready to embrace change?

You don't need to know which type of therapy is right for you. We can discuss your needs and determine an approach together.
